Historic Downtown Frederick City is 15 Minutes away.
Visit sites around Frederick including National Museum of Civil War Medicine, Mount Olivet Cemetery where Francis Scott Key is buried along with other noteable names in history. Walking Tour of Frederick City.  Visit the Community Bridge Mural in Carroll Creek Park. See a Frederick Keys Minor League Baseball game.
 
Eastern part of the county, Tour local vineyards, antique shopping. Baltimore is a 30 minute drive to its many attractions.
 
Western part of the county. South Mountain Battlefield at Gathland State Park home of the Civil War Correspondence Memorial and the Appalachian Trail.  Antietam Battlefield is a short drive away. Brunswick Railroad Museum and model train layout also the C&O Canal Vistors Center.
20 minute drive to Harpers Ferry West Virginia.
 
Northern part of the county.
Catoctin Mountains home to the Presidental Retreat Camp David. The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. Orchards.  Minutes from Gettysburg Civil War Battlefield and Eisenhower Farm.
 
Southern part of the County
"The Battle that saved Washington" Monocacy National Battlefield,  Lilypons water gardens. 20 minute drive to Shady Grove Metro and 45 minutes by car to Washington DC .
